Summer is around the corner and so is the Christmas holidays! Traditionally, every New Years, you’d find the Whanau up north in tents and around the campfire! This year, some might be lucky enough to score themselves a bed!

It’s the best time of year to take a break from city life and escape to the home land. Enjoying our pristine beaches while making memories with the whanau.

If you’re going up, please remember there’s limited cell phone reception, limited electricity, tank water and no WIFI!

Let us know before you go

Heading up north at any time? Let others know when going up this summer so that others can plan their trips accordingly and so that no one is caught without a bed or a tent!

You can let everyone know when you’re going by booking your time and sharing it on the Kelly Whare calendar. Book yourself in either by inviting kellywharenz@gmail.com in a calendar invite or by filling out the booking form via the button link below.

Be a tidy kiwi

Heading to Taemaro for a long weekend? Or for a week? There’s some guidelines and systems in place so that everyone can always enjoy their stay at Kelly Whare.

The main rules are:

  1. Don’t be an egg
  2. Etc….

Helping keep the whare tidy and clean just needs a little help from everyone. From mowing the lawns to pulling ginger, there’s always little tasks that can be done. These tasks are on a spreadsheet so that eveyone is kept up to date and can find out what needs doing 🙂

Here are the main tasks you could help with:

  1. Mow the lawn
  2. Etc….

How was your trip?

Let us know how your trip to Taemaro went! Either update the Facebook group chat or send through your stories and pictures to kellywharenz@gmail.com and Lisa will share your time up north on our website.

Or, if you feel like you want to give WordPress a go, either Lisa or Graham can add you as an Author and you can publish your own stories directly onto the website!

We also encourage you to share old stories from the past so that we can preserve our history in Taemaro.
